Retail Therapy

Greetings from the House of Mouse! There hasn't been any new evidence of the little critters, so I'm hoping they're shriveled up dead and decomposing as I type this. Sorry for the visual. Hope you weren't eating.

I spent the better part of the weekend tearing down wallpaper. Why does that always sound like fun until I'm so far in that there's no turning back? That darn glue never seems to want to come off! Today I'm going to prime the walls, so hopefully, I'll have some pics for you soon.

Since I'm still suffering from post mouse traumatic stress disorder, I figured a little retail therapy was in order. And, guess what? A few purchases later, I am feeling much better. I'm sure my husband will be thrilled. Wanna see what I got?

First stop: Home Goods.

I found these adorable little pieces to use in my living room cabinets.

I love HG, because you can find so many things for just a few bucks. I could have filled this entire cabinet in one HG trip, but I am exercising restraint :)

Second stop: Anthropologie

Since my mouse friends used my oven mitts as chew toys, I picked up a new pair.

And I couldn't resist this lovely tea towel. (So thankful I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket!)

They make my ugly oven just a little bit cuter!

I was going to do only white pieces in my living room cabinet, but I brought home one of these plates to try it out.

You probably don't recall, because it's been so long since I've done anything with my living room decor, but the plate picks up a lot of the colors in the fabric I'll be using.

I think I'll live with it for a little while.

I hope you are having a terrific week, and if not... might I suggest a little retail therapy? :)

  1. Love your finds! Everything is so beautiful and the colors are perfect.
Sorry about your mouse problem, we get that too. They fall in our walls and then shrivel up and decompose. :) It really smells for a few days. Ick!

  2. I love all your buys! Such cheerful colors on the plate and tea towel. The white pottery looks great too. HG is just the best. I could use some retail therapy about not myself!

  3. You found some great things at Homegoods...makes me feel I'm in need of a shopping trip. I LOVE the plate, the colors are gorgeous and that teapot is beautiful!

I saw a mouse come out in out hall and I immediately put mouse poison down. it really makes you feel jumpy that one is going to scurry out!! Hope that is the end of our problems!

  4. I just love those white dishes! Just my taste!

  5. LOVE the white dishes!! Wish we had a home goods close by.
I have had a crazy week and I think a little retail therapy might just help me feel better. Thanks for the tip.

  6. I wish we had Home Goods here in Canada. Everything I see fro there is gorgeous - your pieces included. Love the coloured plates also.

  7. Love the blue and white in your cabinets and the items you purchased from HG after your post mouse traumatic stress disorder. Too funny!

  8. Oh yes, I love retail therapy! I did a little of that today myself. I love all your new goodies. Those white dishes look so good in your cabinet. I haven't been to Anthropolgie in so long. I always enjoy seeing what people buy from there. Those kitchen linens are very cute!

  9. I love every single thing you found....so pretty!! Enjoy.

  10. Gotta love retail therapy...your finds are perfect for their new homes...

  11. HG is a great place for retail therapy! I've got a gift card burning a hole in my pocket too but I'm trying to save it for the perfect pair of lamps for the dining room.
    Enjoy your new goodies!

  12. Love all your purchases. We have a squirrel in the attic....I might need to go shopping!

  13. Great finds! Love all of the white goods and the accent plate looks so pretty. In Canada we have Homesense which I think is the same as Homegoods and it's my favorite store :)

  14. Love the china from Home Goods!

  15. Glad the retail therapy made you feel better! Home Goods is one of my favorite stores. The closest Anthro store to me is about 45 min. away in a mall and I normally detest malls, so I stay away! Guess it's a good thing I don't have a closer Anthro store. ;-) Anyway, you found some great stuff...love the white pieces and the tea towel is just darling.
