A New Dining Table

I went bathing suit shopping this morning, so understandably, I am not in the best mood right now.

I'm going to keep this post short and sweet, as I've determined that I should no longer spend any length of time sitting on my rear end.

So here's the latest on the home decorating front: I bought a new dining room table...

It is a Drexel Heritage table. It is larger and darker than my old table, and seats 4 additional people. But, most importantly, it was an unbelievable deal.  Like, no way could anyone possibly buy a dining table for this price, kind of a deal.  I scored it at a local shop, but I've seen the same table selling for more than double on ebay.

The table weighs a TON, and unfortunately, we put the legs on the wrong way. I don't think my husband was too thrilled when I pointed that out to him.

I don't know if this table would have been my first choice if it had been regular price, but the deal I got made it the best table ever.

And, it was much less painful to shop for than bathing suits :)

  1. Well done! I never let good deals pass by!! I always take them.
You have an enormous dinning room to fit that huge table.
    It looks great!

  2. It's beautiful and that's amazing that you got such a good deal!! We are in the market for a new dining room table because our current one only sits 8 and we'd love one that could fit 12, but what we like and what we can afford are totally different!

  3. Ah, I love it! Like, luv, lurve it. We have an enormous table from Ikea 9seats 14) since we are solidly in the kids-spill-at-every-meal phase of our lives (not the mention 2 kids in diapers!), but I dream of a day when we can have a grown-up table like that.

  6. Love the table.....the color is gorgeous and those legs are awesome!!
I didn't realize Drexel was such a great brand. I am kinda a rookie at all this furniture stuff. I was GIVEN a set of Drexel Touraine French Provincial bedroom furniture, when a very distant family member passed away. After seeing Drexel on you post, I looked it up and the set turns out to be very expensive antique furniture. And to think I was debating on painting it. I think I changed my mind on that and I can't wait to put it all in my little girl, Adeline's, room soon.
Thanks for helping realize what great furniture I have on my hands....now off to start planning Adeline's big girl room!

  14. That is one big beautiful table! I really love the legs on it. It reminds me of my mom's. She just purchased a new one similar to that a few years ago. I know you'll enjoy using it for family gatherings on special occasions too.
