What's Up

Can you guess what I'm up to?

Yep. I'm hanging things on the walls again.  Do you like?

Don't worry. Framed bird prints will soon take the place of the cut-up grocery bags. But, I like to visualize...

Remember my bird prints?

They were such a steal. Good thing, because framing them is not. I went to Michael's where they were having 60% off custom framing plus an additional 10% off, and I still did not like the price. So imagine the grocery bag wall with only 6 grocery bags, because I'm only framing 6 of these puppies birds.

I chose a gold bamboo frame with no mat. It was exactly what I had in mind. But, for some reason I woke up in the middle of the night and worried that the frame was too thick, that I should have matted it, that I made a big mistake. Ugh! I couldn't shut my brain off.

Does that happen to anyone else? 3am seems to be the time of day that I have to worry about everything under the sun. Are the baseball uniforms washed? Are the kids eating enough vegetables? Let me tell you... at 3am the smallest things become earth-shattering.

At least my husband sleeps soundly. Good for him.

I picked up a garden stool at Home Goods.

White wasn't my first color choice, but that's what I found and the price was right. It was less than one frame.

Here's to sleeping through the night!

  1. Oh,yeah- It happens to me, too. I wake up and think...OH...WHY did I do that...or should I do this? It is the old Insecurity Devil raising his ugly head.

Hey- if you decide to NOT pick up the framed prints you can always just leave the paper bags up for interest...quite a conversation piece I would say. xo Diana

  2. I think the grocery bags look pretty fancy! Ha! My stress comes in the form of eating unfortunately! I will work my way through some ice cream when I am stressing over something like that! I would rather just wake up, I think!

Have you thought about Ikea frames? They are really reasonable and look really nice. Maybe a little too casual for what you are going for, but I just thought about that!

  5. Three am is my worry zone, too!!! My last baseless worry that kept me awake was the possibility that all of the wallpaper in the house might fall off of the walls. I'm not kidding. I was sure that if I got up and walked around the house that all of the wallpaper would be on the floor. I have issues.

  6. I found a similar garden stool at TJ Maxx and spray painted it to get the color I wanted. A couple coats of paint and it looks great, maybe you could try it to get the color you want.

  7. I sympathize on the framing costs! I bought my hubs a beautiful print on art.com for his birthday and we went to get it framed and using one of Hobby Lobby's premade frame at 50% it was still twice the cost of the print. UGH.
