Happy Friday! Hope you've had a great week. I had a sinus infection and strep throat, and I'm just now getting back to all the things I've let slide over the past few days. Let's just say I'll be spending a lot of time in the laundry room.
I'm still trying to pull my living room together. I have to make decisions on some big ticket items, namely a rug, art and window treatments. But since I seem to be dragging my feet on that, I thought I'd show you a few things I have added to the room.
I placed a pair of urn lamps on either side of the settee...
Since one table is lower than the other, I propped this lamp up on a stack of books to make it the right height.
On the other side of the room, I added a pair of blue and white vases.
Would have been nice if I put some flowers in them for you. It's so great working with white walls, because I can bring in lots of different color accessories.
I did temporarily commit to one piece of art. It's a print by Alaskan artist, Rie Munoz, called
Sunday Service.
It might be difficult to see, but the painting is of a church in the Alaskan village of Tenakee, where several dogs wait outside for their owners.
It was hanging in a hallway, but I decided to try it out in here. We discovered Rie's work when we spent a summer on Bainbridge Island, Washington. You can see more of her work
HERE.
So, that's it. Just a few additions to help me feel that I'm making
some progress. I'm really hoping to stop hemming and hawing and order.a.rug.already. Sheesh!
Now... back to the laundry... (and I'd like to thank blogger for its technical difficulties which required me to redo this entire post twice. I assure you I was much more eloquent the first time I wrote it :))
Have a great weekend!
